2025 Oxford Conclave

Developing Ethical Leaders for Tomorrow

Rhodes House and Balliol College
University of Oxford
20-23 July, 2025

The Oxford Conclave begins a third decade of annual programs in July 2025 with a retreat for college and university leaders focusing on the role of education in developing ethical leaders for the future. Participating presidents, vice chancellors, and other leaders will share best practices and insights from their own institutions while learning from guest experts. Delegates will engage with:

  • A University of Oxford author and research fellow with expertise in leadership education and global ethics.
  • The former vice chancellor of a major British university who is now leading a new, global initiative in youth leadership with support from King Charles III and the Royal Household.
  • A leading biographer of Abraham Lincoln, sharing insights on ethical leadership based on the former American president’s example.
  • Internationally respected leaders who have championed ethical values and positive social change.
  • Fellow delegates from participating colleges and universities sharing best educational practices in leadership, ethics and character.

The schedule includes a meeting at iconic Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Winston Churchill; an introduction to the Rhodes Scholarships and other prestigious programs of the Rhodes Trust; a reception and dinner at Balliol College; a traditional English Afternoon Tea by the River Thames; and a guided tour of the University of Oxford.

This program is offered in partnership with the Consortium for Global Education. Participation is by invitation only. Email inquiries are welcome.
